A long-time chain Italian eatery has rebranded. Johnny Carino's, 1652 S. Padre Island Drive, will have a grand re-opening as Johnny's Italian American Tavern by Carino's, on April 18. The first 100 guests in line at 4 p.m. will receive a free small classic pizza each week for a year, according to a news release. Limit one per household, and you must be 18 years old or older with valid photo identification to qualify.
In addition to the pizza giveaway, there will be live music, contests and other giveaways for the first 100 in line. According to the release, the remodeled restaurant will serve 100 beers. The new Italian-American menu will include 25-cent wings, a variety of wood-fired pizzas, and hamburgers and sandwiches in addition to Italian-inspired dishes.
