All high school seniors in Erie and Niagara counties are invited to apply for the two annual college scholarships offered by the Italian-American Police Association of Western New York, the group announced Wednesday.
Applications for the Erie County Deputy Sheriff Robert S. Insalaco and the Buffalo Police Officer David J. Scime scholarships must be submitted by May 1 and applications can be obtained at the group's website: www.iapawny.org. The scholarships honor the on-duty killings of the two association members. Insalaco was killed Aug. 13, 1987 and Scime on Sept. 5, 1974.
