“Rao’s Classics” (St. Martin’s Press), a recently published cookbook co-authored by Frank Pellegrino Sr. and Frank Pellegrino Jr., comes with a collection of favorite Italian recipes from the iconic New York restaurant whose history dates back to 1896.
Besides its popular East Harlem location, the business has expanded to Las Vegas and Hollywood. “Rao’s Classics” recognizes timeless southern Italian cooking with more than 140 recipes for Risotto Milanese, Lobster Fra Diavolo, My Grandmother’s Stuffed Calamari and Red Velvet Shortcake, among others.
