The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire: Italy’s Earliest Settlers

The Roman Empire was one of the greatest civilizations in history. It began in Rome in 753 BC., at the height of its power it controlled over two million square miles stretching from the Rhine River to Egypt and from Britain to Asia Minor. Professor Louis Leonini will analyze the rise and fall of the world's first superpower. During each session Professor Leonini will focus on momentous turning points that shaped Roman history.

Who were the earliest settlers on the Italian peninsula, where did they come from and what was their legacy? Phoneticians, Etruscans, and Greeks, what did they contribute to the early development of Ancient Rome?
