Present Danielle Oteri"s book The Insider's Guide to Little Italy who will talk on Saints and Food in Italian-American Culture:

Art historian and author author of the "The Insider's Guide to Little Italy" Danielle Oteri will trace their fascinating history and tell stories of the delicious pastries often associated with these feasts.
New York has many saints: the Madonna of East Harlem, Saint Cono of Williamsburg, San Gennaro of Mulberry Street and the Black Madonna of the East Village. Brought to the city by Italian immigrants, the saints stories begin in antiquity and contain the history and the traditions of the Middle Ages and beyond in Italy. Fading and forgotten, these traditions were once central to the lives of Italian immigrants.

Admission is free but space is limited.
