"Italians Have Talent" constituted the entertainment when the Italian American Cultural Club held its March 11 meeting at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville.
Carm Gentile, president, presided at the meeting attended by 135 members, and Tina Piergallini, co-chaplain, opened the meeting with prayer.
Prior to the start of the meeting, Rick Pastre presented performances to the club in honor of "Italians Have Talent." Performers included Abbey Evanko, granddaughter of Jim and Barb Cerra, singing; the mother-daughter duo of Tammy and Bella Zinno, playing piano; and Rich Treglia, singing.
Meeting announcements included the postponement of the Tri-State Community Band concert until the fall; the St. Agnes CWC card party on April 21; and the Jefferson County Fourth Street Health Center gala also on April 21.
Lil Cellini reported on cards sent on the club's behalf.
In a scholarship committee report, Vince Talarico reminded members that the deadline to return applications for one of seven $1,000 Edmondo Stabene Memorial Scholarships must be postmarked on or before April 1.
Tammy Cashioli reported that registrations for Campo Italiano for children up to age 6 must be returned to the P.O. box address only by May 25. Youth leaders are needed and must have completed seventh grade. The 2012 camp involved 70 volunteers attended.
Gentile reminded members that the Italian newsletter, La Gazetta, is available to purchase for $1.
The 50/50 drawing was won by Mary Conroy with Virginia Belardine and Nial Pashke winning the drawing for a free dinner at the April meeting.
