A huge weekend of celebrations started for some folks as they kicked off with a huge bowl of pasta at the Italian American Marching Club's annual celebration. Katherine Hauck attends the event occasionally. “I think it's wonderful, it's wonderful,” she said.
As the pile of pasta con sardi builds, so does the excitement. Like so many things in New Orleans it's the food and music that make this event so special. The 500 pounds of pasta, 150 gallons of gravy, 50 pounds of cheese and a topping of bread crumbs that represent the sawdust of St. Joseph all come together to create the community feast.
