For Adam Lentini, Sunday was a family affair in downtown Auburn. The Auburn man was joined by his 9-year-old daughter, Elisabeth, at the second annual Grape-Winemaking Festival at the State Street mall. Together, the two stomped and waded in a barrel of grapes, laughing as their feet mashed the fruit into juice.
To their right in another barrel was Adam's mother, Maria — a volunteer with Auburn's Cultural Italian American Organization — stomping and mashing right along with them. Adam said his mother told him she would be making pasta and beans for the event. Hearing that, Adam knew he couldn't miss out on this year's festival hosted by CIAO. The Auburn man said he hopes CIAO's efforts will continue with newer generations.
