Columbus Day at Italian Civic League

The Italian Civic League is hosting its annual banquet in honor of Cristoforo Colombo Oct. 12 at Diplomat Banquet Center,1956 Lyell Ave. in Gates. The ceremony starts at 11 a.m. with the flag raising at noon. The keynote speaker will be State Assembly majority leader Joseph Morelle.
The host club is Sons of Italy and there are 15 Italian organizations falling under the Italian Civic League umbrella. The Italian Civic League was founded in 1934. The Monroe County Legislature designated ICL the organization to represent the Italian-American community in celebrating Columbus Day.
