The Garibaldi-Meucci Museum, located at 420 Tompkins St. Staten Island, on July 11, 2015 hosted an art exhibit of Staten Island artist: Annette Marten.
Annette is well known in Staten Island for her fundraising efforts. In 2004, her exhibit "Bridging the Gap", raised funds to alleviate the devastation caused by the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami.
Her natural talent was improved during her studies at the college of Staten Island. Then, she continued her studies and career at The Art Students League and The National School of Design in Manhattan. Annette is affiliated with several Artistic groups including The Staten Island Artist Association.
At the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum she decided to display her new exhibit "A Tribute to my Italian Heritage". Her exhibit is composed of a variety of paintings representing Italian landscapes, traditions and culture.
The opening was well attended by more than one hundred people, who decided to enjoy a virtual tour of Italy through her painting in a truly Italian atmosphere.
Many have been the positive comments which prized the artist. The exhibit will be held until the end of September from Wednesday to Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. Cost: $5.00/ free for members.
