March 19-20-21, 2013
The leading Incanto Productions, LLC, based in Queens, enthusiastically announces the American debut of the new bilingual show "SETTE MONDI – SEVEN WORLDS" for a limited run March 19-20-21, 2013 at Queens Theatre.
The production of SETTE MONDI Seven Worlds is in collaboration with IACE (Italian American Committee on Education), under the
patronage of the Embassy of Italy in Washington, the Consulate General of Italy in New York, the Italian Cultural Institute of New York and the Italian Government Tourist Board (ENIT).
SETTE MONDI (Seven Worlds) is a new interactive musical, an original bilingual work brought to the USA for the first time to expose children and families to the beauty of the Italian language
and culture. More than 2000 students will attend the show with already three sold out shows.
The production was written and directed by Simona Rodano, an Italian native singer, actress and award winning educator. She is joined by Broadway actor Joseph Di Salle and a cast of acrobat
dancers that bring the audience through an enchanted world of Italian words, music, dance and special effects. This modern show is great school and family entertainment, and features pop,
rock, and latin music by Punto Rec Studio (Turin, Italy), an all-round player in the world of sound recording and production. Choreography is by Natalie Lomonte (Momix, Spider Man on
Broadway). Props and set are designed by Johna Mancini (And the Ship Sails On - Federico Fellini, 1983).
"We are delighted to have Incanto Productions at Queens Theatre and are pleased to be a continued resource for the community" said Ray Cullom, Executive Director of the Queens Theatre.
"We are thrilled to bring a piece of Italian heritage and culture to America along with the timeless messages of embracing different cultures and languages, and the importance of learning Italian and discovering Italy through music and theatre," said Ms. Rodano of Incanto Productions, also member of the League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW).
"Actors, jugglers, singers and dancers, for the children watching the show, are not only simple artists anymore, but unforgettable messengers of our language and culture," said Carlo Davoli, Director of the Education Office of the Consulate General of Italy in New York.
The event is also under the patronage of Province of Asti, Piemontesi nel Mondo Association, Columbus Citizens Foundation of New York, American Association of Teachers of Italian (AATI-LI), Association of Italian American Educators (AIAE) and the Federation of Italian American Organizations of Queens ( FIAO).
