If you can't make it to Italy for its cuisine, try Carrollton

If I never cross Naples, Italy, off my bucket list, at least I’ve had the pleasure of tasting a Neapolitan-style pizza at a new, homey restaurant in Isle of Wight County. Chef and owner Massimo “Max” Errico opened Napoli é Ristorante Italiano about four months ago in Carrollton. He and his wife moved from their native Italy to the U.S. in 2003.

“Napoli é,” according to Errico, means “Naples is … something else.” His food is something else, as well: something to be savored. My recent trip to Naples via Carrollton started with zucchini fritti ($6). The battered and flash-fried zucchini discs were crunchy and golden on the outside, with a dusting of grated parmesan.
