Talk explores Italian Augustinian ministry in South Phila

The next American Catholic Historical Society’s Spotlight on Local History event is Sunday, May 6. With the theme, “The Italian Augustinian Mission in South Philadelphia.” The talk begins at 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The American Catholic Historical Society is located at 263 South 4th Street in the old city section of Philadelphia.

Augustinian Father Michael Di Gregorio will speak on the history of the Augustinian mission to the Italian community in South Philadelphia, which dates back to 1897. The talk will expand on an article he wrote for Analecta Augustiniana titled “The Mission of the Italian Augustinians in the United States, The First Thirty-Five Years: Laying the Foundation.”
