Pizza is delicious. But free pizza is divine. And Pagliai’s Pizza in Johnston wants to celebrate their family's 61-year legacy with free pizza by honoring their Northern Italian grandparents, Nonno and Nonna Pagliai. Pagliai’s will give away a free pizza per week through Thanksgiving.
Hungry diners who visit Pagliai’s Pizza at 5312 Merle Hay Road in Johnston can snap a photograph of themselves with a life-size cutout of Nonno and Nonna Pagliai. If they text that photo to (515) 689-9266, they will be entered in a drawing for a free pizza. Pagliai’s was founded in 1957 in Ames by Nonna and Nonno's sons, Sam, Armond and Aldo. They used recipes that were developed by Nonno and Nonna in Northern Italy. The three Pagliai brothers introduced their pizza to central Iowa when they began serving it at their neighborhood bar.
