Wood-fired Neapolitan pizza arrives in Newton today, courtesy of the new Olivia’s Bistro, opening at 4 p.m. in Nonantum (136 Adams St.). With several familiar faces from Boston’s food and hospitality world involved, the restaurant brings a selection of Italian dishes to the neighborhood.

Olivia’s took over the space that previously housed Ginger Root, as previously reported. The owners are Dessy Rushe, who served as general manager at The Burren in Somerville’s Davis Square for 20 years, and Karl Roche, who also owns West Street Tavern in Newton and was previously involved with the Corrib Pub, which has locations in Brighton and West Roxbury.
