On Oct. 28, the Massachusetts Association of Italian American Police Officers, MAITAPO, presented Medford Mayor Stephanie Muccini Burke with the Guglielmo Marconi Award for Public Service. “It was a privilege and honor to be recognized by such a hardworking and philanthropic group, but the true honor is to be surrounded by such amazing men and women in law enforcement,” Burke said. “Their stories of bravery and courage are awe inspiring.”
MAITAPO President Martin Gabriella said, “I am so very proud to present Mayor Stephanie Muccini Burke with the prestigious Guglielmo Marconi Award for outstanding contributions in public service and safety. Her commitment to building a new Headquarters for the hard-working officers of the Medford Police Department is admirable.” The Massachusetts Chapter of the national organization is in its 49th year with more than 400 members.
