Happy 90th birthday to Sett Firmani

Dozens of people circled the tables and lined the counters of Don's Diner Monday morning, and nearly every one was a friend of Sett Firmani. The lifelong Leominster resident celebrated his 90th birthday this week with a breakfast that brought together many of the people he's worked alongside during his long career as a community volunteer.

For decades, Firmani devoted his life to fundraising for Fitchburg State University and St. Anna's Church. He's a founder of the Italian-American Club, a board member at Sholan Farms, and a former Leominster Rotarian. Even in his role as president of Leominster Credit Union, where he worked for nearly 30 years, he was always trying to find ways to help people.
