Fruitastic-O, which offers Italian ice and “cream ice,” held a grand opening on July 1 at Mt. Greenwood Park, 3721 W. 111th St., where it will be stationed until October. Run by owner Mike Small (second from left), of Mt. Greenwood, and his family, Fruitastic-O offers six flavors of Italian ice, including blueberry, lemon, mango and sour cherry. They are dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan.
Cream ice, which includes dairy ingredients, has flavors including root beer float, cookies and cream, and sunshine orange creamsicle. Small said Fruitastic-O uses only natural ingredients, including filtered water, real sugar, cream and fruit. He perfected his recipes over the last two years by preparing samples for his co-workers at a metal sheet company.
