Friends and family reunite at St. Mary of Assumption Bazaar Festival

A century-old community tradition brought friends and family back together in Binghamton Friday night. St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Binghamton kicked off its three day celebration and bazaar. The Bazaar is for the Feast of the Assumption, which celebrates when Mary ascended into Heaven.

Streets were filled with Italian food, drinks, music and art vendors, but some say it's also a good chance to reunite with old friends. "You know with some of the issues going on with Binghamton, people leaving, it's always good to have them come back and something that's always here and familiar," said Daniel Svoboda the Bazaar co-chair.
