Who says classical music has to be a staid, somber affair? In the same vein of Chico and Harpo Marx or the late zany virtuoso pianist Victor Borge, Portsmouth Community Concerts Inc. will present a concert where the audience will be serenaded with expert classical music while laughing ‘til they cry. The famed international twosome, Duo Baldo, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Churchland High School auditorium, 4301 Cedar Road.
This dynamic duo of violin and piano features keyboard artist/actor Aldo Gentileschi and string wizard Brad Repp. The duo was born in 2002 at a cafe on the outskirts of Florence, Italy. After rehearsing, brainstorming and intense creative sessions, they developed a crazy, entertaining show that made them the toast of the Firenza music scene.
