Andrea Bocelli is hitting back-to-back landmarks. This month, the renowned Italian singer releases his first album of new material in 14 years. Last month, he turned 60 years old. Perhaps another memorable landmark is on the way for the classical-crossover superstar as he travels to Cincinnati for his first show here.
“By now, there are very few places in the world that I have not had the chance to hold a concert,” Bocelli answered in an e-mail interview. “That is why I am looking forward to meeting the audience of Cincinnati with equal amounts of anticipation and joy.” In the exchange, Bocelli addressed the topics of his 60th birthday and Bob Ezrin, the producer of his latest album, who has to his credits such rock albums as Kiss’ “Destroyer,” Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” and Lou Reed’s “Berlin.”
