In 2011 TJ Mabrey closed her carving studio (est. 1980) in Pietrasanto, Italy and moved to Taos where she opened Studio Santiago in May of this year. On October 4th and 5th she celebrates this new chapter of her artistic expression with an Open House Studio Visit from 11a to 4p each day. Mabrey's sculptures reflect her remarkable life that took her from Texas to Central America and from Singapore to the pyramids of Egypt.
Many are influenced by her Tuscan experience that spanned 24 years of living and working in Pietrasanto for several months each year. As a longtime member of the Italian Cultural Society of Taos, Mabrey will be joined on Sunday, October 5th from 2p – 4p by ICS Executive Director, Pia Lima who will have a special gift for ICS members who visit the studio.
