Memphis: the 29th Annual Italian Festival

After 29th years the Italian Festival in Memphis continues to draw crowds. The East Memphis event offered live music, Italian food, and games Saturday. People ate in Luigi’s Café which included meals from several local restaurants.

Local 24 spoke with a cook whose team has competed in the gravy competition for 20 years. “Just the family atmosphere. This is the one time a year that we all get together as a family. It’s really, really fun,” said Michael Sansone of Team Mama Biondini’s. Proceeds from the Italian Fest will benefit the Holy Rosary Catholic School and Parish.
